AIDS Solutions Management Toolkits is a dedicated corporate HIV/AIDS impact management programme, which has been positioned to rapidly implement comprehensive HIV/AIDS strategies within the company environment. The AIDS Solutions methodology combines online, e-mail, print media and face-to-face interaction to offer a compelling innovative multimedia approach to HIV/AIDS management.

AIDS Solutions Management Toolkits, a module of AIDS Solutions programme, combines the power and efficiency of the online medium to offer comprehensive management skills development in the field of HIV/AIDS. The programme develops advanced skills in corporate HIV/AIDS management issues by presenting a comprehensive training curriculum to participating managers. In addition it offers managers a comprehensive set of workplace tools, documentation and knowledgebase portal, which will support their everyday HIV/AIDS related challenges. As such it refines the formal learnings of the concepts and practices of corporate HIV/AIDS management as a critical “skillset” requirement for the South African manager. The material has services SETA accreditation pending and can be incorporated into a submission for SETA levy rebate within the workplace skills programme administration.

Programme Objectives:

  • To enhance the basic and specific understanding of HIV/AIDS concepts and principles.
  • To increase the level of understanding of the existing - and potential - impacts of HIV/AIDS within the organisation.
  • To improve management’s capability to deal with practical HIV/AIDS related issues in the workplace.
  • To proactively reduce the potential liability of the organisation to HIV/AIDS issues
  • and to achieve this through a stimulating and engaging programme of management education.

Components:

The AIDS Solutions management toolkits are comprised of the following components:

1. Workbook Modules

A 12-part monthly series of online management training workbooks. This interactive learning allows for the efficient distribution of material and monitoring of training involvement by participating management. Because the training programme follows a blended approach, the training will be proceeded by workshop based contact sessions and same during the programme.

Each workbook module compromises:

  • Course pack(Study links): reference material and “pre-reading’
  • Interactive workbook: content and questions to test comprehension
  • Modular assessment: Post workbook test
  • Client completion reports: Client reports represent completion and scoring of participating management. These can be correlated with existing or planned sustainability index objectives.

2. AIDS Solutions Knowledgebase and Resource Centre

An extensive archive of essential management-orientated material which will supplement the ability to deal with a range of HIV/AIDS related issues, including strategy development, Human Resource issues, Communications requirements and many more.

  • Dealing with disclosure: Psychological considerations, counselling, protocol.
  • Workplace & Immunity: Managing the immune compromised employee
  • Living with HIV: wellness management, medical management, support structures
